Background

Apohem, in collaboration with 56K Digital, aimed to enhance its organic search performance. The campaign focused on improving non-branded clicks, organic revenue, and overall visibility.

Objectives and Challenges

The main objectives were to:

  • Double non-branded clicks year-over-year (YoY)
  • Double organic revenue YoY
  • Increase organic visibility by 100%
  • Increase the number of keywords ranking in the top 10 by 50%

Challenges included a highly competitive market with a lot of strong organic players, managing a high number of duplicated pages due to the broad product range, and addressing canonicalization issues to optimize the crawl budget.

Our Approach

Our SEO strategy involved several key actions:

  1. Technical SEO: Optimizing website structure, addressing indexation, canonicalization, and duplication issues, and implementing structured data to enhance SERP visibility.
  2. Category Content Strategy: Expanding categories and subcategories based on products in stock, search demand, and seasonality. This included creating new informational content and improving internal linking.
  3. Scalable Metadata Recommendations: Optimizing metadata with calls to action (CTAs) and emojis to increase click-through rates (CTR).
  4. Content Hub Strategy: Collaborating with writers to create unique, relevant content that meets YMYL quality rating guidelines, and enhancing internal linking between informational and commercial content.
  5. Link Acquisition: Building relevant referring domains to target commercial category and brand pages, improving domain authority and competitiveness for difficult keywords.

Results

The campaign achieved significant growth, with key performance indicators (KPIs) showing marked improvements:

  • Non-Branded Performance: Non-branded clicks increased by 543% YoY, exceeding the target of a 50% increase. The website's non-branded CTR improved by 7.5%, and the average position improved from 14.7 to 11.
  • Organic Revenue: Organic revenue saw a 115% increase YoY, surpassing the target of a 50% increase.
  • Organic Visibility: Visibility increased by 1325% since the start of the campaign, with a YoY increase of 159%.
  • Keyword Rankings: Keywords ranking in the top 10 positions increased by 116%, far exceeding the target of a 50% increase.
